Azerbaijan increases earnings from polypropylene exports by 67%

In May this year, Azerbaijan exported polypropylene in primary forms worth $ 7.2 million.
According to the "Export Review" of the Center for Economic Reforms Analysis and Communication, this is $ 1.7 million or 30.9% more than in May 2020.
In January-May this year, Azerbaijan exported polypropylene in primary forms worth $ 44.2 million, which is $ 17.7 million or 66.8% higher than in January-May 2020.
Polypropylene is produced at SOCAR Polymer's Polypropylene Plant with an annual production capacity of 184,000 tons. The plant was inaugurated on July 18, 2018, with the participation of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Italy Sergio Mattarella. Exports of polypropylene began on October 5 of the same year.
