More than 1,000 Azerbaijani students chose Ukrainian universities in 2025

Azerbaijan consistently ranks in the top five in terms of the number of foreign citizens studying in Ukraine, Ruslana Rokhmaniyko, Head of the International Relations Department at the Ukrainian State Center for International Education, told Report.

"This figure has decreased 2.5 times compared to the period before Russia's full-scale attack on Ukrainian territory. According to figures as of January 1, 2025, the number of Azerbaijanis studying at Ukrainian universities was more than 4,000 students."

She noted that students from Azerbaijan choose subjects such as management, economics, law, maritime and inland transport, as well as finance and banking at Ukrainian educational institutions.

"According to the Unified State System on education issues, approximately 1,000 Azerbaijani citizens completed their higher education at Ukrainian universities in 2025. From January 1, 2025, to September 15, 2025, more than a thousand Azerbaijani citizens were admitted to Ukrainian universities. We are glad that during this difficult period, bright Azerbaijani youth chose Ukrainian universities, and this shows that our educational institutions remain attractive for foreign students to study in Ukraine," she added.
