Zero waste and the development of a circular economy are among the priorities of the global climate agenda, Christian Mensah, Senior Adviser to the COP31 Presidency Office, said during a panel discussion held as part of Baku Climate Action Week 2026 (BCAW 2026), Report informs.
He said particular attention should be paid to solutions that can be applied across different countries and help accelerate climate action.
"The Zero Waste concept and the development of a circular economy are among the initiatives we recommend focusing on," Mensah said.
He noted that plans to accelerate the implementation of climate solutions help bring stakeholders together, identify barriers to scaling up initiatives and align their implementation with individual countries' priorities.
