Amin Mammadov: There is urgent need for water-oriented urban planning

There is an urgent need for water-oriented urban planning.

Report informs that Amin Mammadov, Chairman of the Public Council under Azerbaijan's Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, said this at an event held as part of WUF13 in Baku.

According to him, as the world faces growing challenges related to climate change and its impact on water resources at the global, regional and national levels, water management issues in urban development are becoming particularly relevant.

"An interdisciplinary approach is needed in water-oriented urban planning. In addition to urban planners and architects, engineers and specialists with advanced global practices who are capable of offering effective solutions should be actively involved in the process," he said.
