Election official says all conditions created for transparent voting

"The number of candidates participating in the elections this year far exceeds the number of candidates in previous elections," Member of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Huseyn Pashayev said.

Report informs that, according to Pashayev, Azerbaijan has created all conditions for free and transparent parliamentary elections," 

"The CEC has taken all necessary measures to comply with the Election Code.

"Polling stations opened at 08:00 this morning. The conditions created at the polling stations allow for high-quality elections. The number of candidates participating in the elections this year far exceeds the number of candidates in previous elections. At the same time, there is a great interest in the election among the population. The number of international observers, as well as the countries and organizations represented by them, has significantly increased, with observers from 58 countries and 59 international organizations participating in the elections," Pashayev said.

According to him, this year's election campaigns also differed from the previous ones. The CEC designated 256 open and closed spaces for candidates to meet with voters. The candidates held regular meetings with voters, even in the most remote villages.
