Baku responds to Yerevan

"We would like to remind to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, that the years of violation of the fundamental principles of the international law by Armenia is the main reason behind the failure to determine the border between the two states in the past three decades," head of the press service of Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry Leyla Abdullayeva said.

Report informs that she was commenting on the statement of the Armenian Foreign Ministry's spokesperson that accused Azerbaijan of creating tensions on the border and claimed that Azerbaijan allegedly violated humanitarian law by occupying the territory of Karabakh.

According to Leyla Abdullayeva, it is a generally positive factor that Armenia has finally remembered the international law after 30 years: "However, Armenia again perceives the principles of international law in its own, specific way. Accusing Azerbaijan of occupying the territories through the use of force, Armenians still do not realize that we cannot occupy the areas of our country; we can only liberate them from occupation. Armenians should finally understand these realities, accept the new situation. Once again, we call on Armenia to normalize relations based on the principles of international law, to which they refer, and to demonstrate constructiveness in solving any disagreements."
