UAE resumes purchase of sugar from Azerbaijan

In the first two months of 2022, 6,306 tons of sugar (-35.3%) worth $ 4.14 (-15.1%) million were exported from Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan sold 5,704 tons of products (-27%) worth $ 3.63 million (-5.6%) to Turkmenistan, 263 tons (+2 times) worth $ 283,000 (+2.8 times) to Russia, 338 tons (+17.2 times) worth $ 220,000 (+14 times) to Georgia, 1,340 tons (+10.7 times) worth $ 1,700 (+12.6 times) to Israel, and 140 tons worth $ 120 thousand to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
After a one-year, six-month break, supplies to the UAE have been restored.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 208.67 tons of sugar worth $ 136,000, which is 91.2% and 93.1% less than a year earlier, respectively.
The country purchased 203.25 tons (-80%) of sugar worth $ 123,770 (-77.8%) from Ukraine, 1.59 tons (-99.8%) worth $ 3,070 (-99.3%) from Russia, 0.26 tons (-37.5%) worth $ 2,200 (+2.6 times) from Luxembourg, 0.66 tons (+34.7%) of sugar worth $ 2,000 (+2.2 times) from Mauritius, and 0.6 tons (+7.5 times) of sugar worth $ 1,770 (+3 times) from Italy.
