Small and medium-sized enterprises must become active partners in the process of building sustainable and inclusive cities, Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, Director General of the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), said during a panel discussion held within the framework of WUF13 in Baku, according to Report.
"Strengthening the capacity of SMEs is a strategically important direction for enhancing urban resilience and expanding economic opportunities. Small businesses are the ones most capable of adapting quickly to change and generating innovative solutions for local communities. Without their mobility and active participation, it is difficult to imagine a modern and dynamically developing urban environment. By providing them with the necessary resources and tools, we are creating a solid foundation for the future of our cities," she emphasized.
