Georgia’s trade turnover with Azerbaijan declines by about 7% 

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Georgia in January 2023 amounted to $120.453 million, down 6.6% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the National Statistics Office of Georgia.

This constituted 8.2% of Georgia’s total trade turnover.

The exports from Georgia to Azerbaijan increased by 11% to 51.937 million (11.3% of total exports), while imports from Azerbaijan declined by 11% to $68.5 million (6.8% of total imports).

In January, Georgia’s total trade turnover amounted to $1.46 billion, showing a 29.1% growth in comparison to a year earlier. The exports surged 38.5% to $459 million, while the imports rose by 25.2% to $1 billion. Consequently, the negative balance made up $543.9 million.

The main trade partners of Georgia in 2022 included Russia ($263.6 million), Türkiye ($196.1 million), and Azerbaijan ($120.453 million).
