Azerbaijan, UK move to eliminate double taxation

Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom held further discussions on a draft new convention aimed at eliminating double taxation with respect to taxes on income and gains from the disposal of property, as well as preventing tax evasion, Report informs, citing the State Tax Service (STS) under Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy.

During the meeting, attended by authorized representatives of the UK's tax and customs authorities, the participants exchanged views on various provisions of the draft convention.

Orkhan Musayev, Head of the Main Department for International Taxation and Tax Monitoring at the STS, emphasized the importance of the convention in strengthening bilateral economic ties and promoting business partnerships.

Both sides highlighted the importance of improving cooperation to enhance the efficiency of tax administration.

The discussions on developing cooperation in taxation and improving the existing legal framework took place in a constructive atmosphere of mutual understanding and collaboration.
