Azerbaijan sees sixfold increase in spending on bus imports from China

In January-May 2026, Azerbaijan imported 333 buses, valued at $55.3 million, marking an increase of 59% in number and 3.4 times in value year-on-year, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.
During this period, Azerbaijan purchased buses from:
- China: 315 units (+3 times) worth $54 million (+6 times);
- Türkiye: 7 units (-53%) worth $564,200 (-58%);
- Germany: 4 units (-56%) worth $379,000(-78%);
- Italy: 5 units (unchanged) worth $301,000 (+8.3%);
- Russia: 2 units (-75%) worth $30,400 (-82%).
In 2025, 82% of the 877 buses imported to Azerbaijan came from China.
