Azerbaijan posts over 23% surge in cost of auto imports

In the first half of 2025, Azerbaijan imported 51,727 vehicles for various purposes, valued at $960.709 million, marking a year-on-year increase of 22.2% and 23.3%, respectively, Report informs, citing the country’s State Customs Committee.

According to the committee, the number of cars with a capacity of ten or more seats grew by 2.4 times to 250 (valued at $20.245 million), and the number of passenger cars and other motor vehicles rose by 24.2% to 47,199 (valued at $865.347 billion).

Of these, 23,001 (worth $472.963 million) were hybrid vehicles, and 929 ($31.625 million) were electric cars, respectively, up 2.6 times and down 38.3% compared to the corresponding period of 2024.

Additionally, the import of vehicles for cargo transportation increased by 0.2% to 4,010 ($48.690 million), and special cars surged by 21.3% to 268 ($26.427 million).
