Azerbaijan posts 63% growth in cost of imported vehicles

In January–November 2023, Azerbaijan imported 88,738 vehicles worth $1.522 billion, respectively, up 32.7% and 63.3% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.
According to the Committee, the number of cars with a capacity of ten or more seats declined by 69% to 116 ($7.5 million), and the number of passenger cars and other motor vehicles increased by 32.75% to 81,824 ($1.377 billion).
Of these, 12,749 ($332.4 million) are hybrid vehicles, and 2,737 ($111.1 million) are electric cars, respectively, up 21.6% and 6.6-fold from the previous year.
Meanwhile, the import of vehicles for cargo transportation rose by 41.9% to 6,464 ($101.5 million), and special cars surged by 11.7% to 334 ($36 million).
