Azerbaijan increases electric car imports by 6 times

In January-February this year, Azerbaijan imported 11,145 (+18.1%) vehicles worth $ 125.4 million (+25.3%), Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee (SCC).

Within two months, imports of motor vehicles with a seating capacity of ten or more, including drivers, increased by 2.3 times to 87 (worth $ 10.3 million), passenger cars and other motor vehicles rose by 20% to 10,340 (worth $ 95.1 million).

Of these, 2,032 ($16.5 million) are hybrid electric vehicles, and 57 ($1.3 million) are electric cars, respectively, up 95% and 5.7-fold from the previous year.

Meanwhile, vehicles for cargo transportation fell by 12.7% to 668 ($14.4 million), and special vehicles rose by 3.3 times to 50 ($5.7 million).
