Azerbaijan cuts lemon and lime imports by 5% in value

Azerbaijan imported 10,542 tonnes of fresh or dried lemons and limes worth $9.6 million in January-June 2026.

According to calculations by Report based on data from the State Statistical Committee, imports declined by 5% in value and 10% in volume compared with the same period last year.

During the specified period, Azerbaijan imported 7,186 tonnes of lemons and limes worth $5.4 million from Türkiye. This represented a 20% decline in both value and volume year-on-year.

Imports from South Africa amounted to 2,173 tonnes worth $3.1 million, up 17% in value and 4% in volume.

Purchases from Iran totaled 746 tonnes worth $559,000, with both value and volume tripling compared with the same period a year earlier.

Azerbaijan also imported 356 tonnes worth $481,000 from Argentina, where there had been no supplies during the corresponding period last year.

Imports from Brazil amounted to 44 tonnes worth $90,000, increasing by 2.3% in value and 2% in volume year-on-year.

After a five-year-and-nine-month hiatus, Azerbaijan resumed imports from Syria, purchasing 37.2 tonnes worth $28,000.

The country also resumed supplies from Colombia after a two-year-and-seven-month break, importing 0.02 tonnes worth $1,000.
