Subsidies per hectare for super-intensive apple orchards reach AZN 32,200 in Nakhchivan

A differentiated approach to cultivation, production and seed subsidies has been introduced in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, with payment rates significantly increased for a number of categories.

According to Report's Nakhchivan bureau, Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov said during a regional meeting on the State Program for the Development of Agriculture, Fisheries and Aquaculture for 2026–2030 in the Nakhchivan Economic Region that some of the highest one-time cultivation subsidies in the country have been established for fruit orchards planted in Nakhchivan between September 1, 2025 and May 31, 2026.

"In particular, intensive pear orchards are eligible for subsidies of AZN 20,000 (approximately $11,765) per hectare, while intensive apple orchards receive AZN 21,000 ($12,350) per hectare," Mammadov said.

Subsidies for super-intensive orchards are even higher.

"For example, super-intensive apple orchards are eligible for subsidies of AZN 32,200 ($18,940) per hectare, which is the highest subsidy among all categories," he added.
