Majnun Mammadov reports growth in Azerbaijan's agricultural sector

Agricultural production in Azerbaijan has increased by 38%, while output in the fisheries sector has nearly tripled. The country has also achieved self-sufficiency in a number of high-value agricultural products, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov said during a panel discussion at the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2026).

Report quotes the minister as saying Azerbaijan's agricultural sector has made significant progress over the past decade, while the country has strengthened its position in international markets.

Mammadov stressed that the task is not simply to increase production.

"It is necessary to use available resources more efficiently, build a more productive and sustainable agricultural system, and produce goods with higher added value. This is precisely how Azerbaijan approaches the development of agriculture," he said.
