The first grain crops planted on individual land plots in Azerbaijan's liberated Khojaly and Aghdara districts have produced a high yield, the Public Relations Department of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in Khankendi city and the Khojaly and Aghdara districts told Report.
According to the statement, grain was planted on more than 1,000 hectares in the Khojaly and Aghdara districts. The successful harvest once again demonstrated the high fertility of the land, the effectiveness of applied agricultural practices, and the impact of state support.
Particular attention has been drawn to residents' active participation in the "Land Lease" project implemented in the Ballija village of the Khojaly district. A total of 162 people applied for the project, with 132 successfully completing the training and examination stages and receiving certificates. A total of 89 certified participants were provided with 1,234.69 hectares of land for long-term lease. Under the project, families received an average of 1.5 hectares of land.
To ensure the efficient organization of agriculture, nine agricultural cooperatives have been established in Ballija village. These cooperatives bring together 72 members working on 1,052.01 hectares of land. In addition, 12 family farming enterprises have been created in the village. They include 42 members and have been allocated a total of 152.68 hectares of land.
The results achieved during the first planting season are contributing significantly to ensuring employment for residents returning to their native lands under the Great Return program, restoring agriculture, and strengthening the region's economic potential. They also create favorable conditions for Khojaly and Aghdara to become one of Azerbaijan's key grain-producing regions in the coming years.
