Azerbaijan resumes cherry imports from two countries

Azerbaijan exported 29,199 tons of cherries worth $41.634 million in the first seven months of 2022, respectively, up 50.2% and 34% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

In the reporting period, 29,098 tons (+51%) of cherries worth $41.51 million (+34.1%) were exported to Russia, 99.1 tons (+87%) worth $120,190 (+5.5 times) to Kazakhstan, 0.92 tons (-97.5%) worth $4,180 (-90.6%) to Belarus, and 0.99 tons (-16.6%) worth $3,460 (-27%) to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 137.86 tons (+25.5%) of cherries worth 201,370 (+75%).

The country imported 72.98 tons of cherries worth 119,640 from Russia, 57.88 tons (-40.8%) worth 71,900 (-26.5%) from Turkiye, 6.9 tons (-47%) worth 9,320 (-46.5%) from Iran, and 100 kg worth $510 from Chile.

The supply from Chile was restored After two years and 10 months, from Russia after 1 year and 10 months.

Russia was responsible for 99.2% of Azerbaijan's total exports of cherries (19,400 tons) to five countries in 2021.
