Azerbaijan posts 14% increase in cattle imports

Azerbaijan imported 1,238 head of cattle worth $5.52 million during the first four months of the year, according to calculations by Report based on data from the State Statistical Committee.
Compared with the same period in 2025, the value of cattle imports increased by 27%, while the number of imported animals rose by 14%.
Estonia was the largest supplier by value during the reporting period, exporting 363 head of cattle worth $1.66 million to Azerbaijan, up 24% in value and 10% in volume year-on-year.
Austria supplied 342 head of cattle valued at $1.51 million, marking an elevenfold increase in value and a tenfold rise in volume. Germany exported 236 head of cattle worth $1.1 million, up eightfold in value and sixfold in quantity.
Slovakia delivered 132 head of cattle worth $519,000, with no such exports recorded in the same period last year. Hungary supplied 132 head valued at $510,000, down 32% in value and 41% in volume compared with a year earlier.
In 2025, Azerbaijan imported a total of 8,983 head of cattle, with Uruguay accounting for 40% of the total and the Czech Republic for 20.5%.
