Tourists flow from Azerbaijan more than triples

In January 2022, the number of Azerbaijani citizens travelling abroad increased by 3.2 times compared to last year and amounted to 89,600 people, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.

The number of people travelling to Russia rose 5.6 times, Iran 3.6 times, Turkiye 2.6 times, and Georgia 2.5 times. 39.4% of the country's citizens travelled to Turkey, 25.8% to Russia, 8% to Georgia, 9.7% to Iran, and 17.1% to other countries. 67.8% of travellers were men and 32.2% were women.

Last month, 31.2% of Azerbaijani citizens going abroad used rail and road, 66.3% used air, and 2.5% used the sea.
