Tourism infrastructure around Shahbulag Fortress nears completion

Work to create tourism infrastructure around Shahbulag Fortress in the Aghdam district is nearing completion, State Tourism Agency Reserve Management Center Board Chairman Murad Aghabayli told journalists.

According to Report, he said the agency continues to develop new tourism products both in the regions and in Baku.

"Currently, the preparation of these tourism products and infrastructure works are continuing in virtually all regions. For example, Lahij can be highlighted. In Basgal, work on preparing several tourism products is already nearing completion. Several facilities have already been commissioned in the Yukhari Bash State Historical-Architectural Reserve in Shaki, including a shebeke workshop and the Historical and Local History Museum, which have been made available to tourists. Work is also underway to develop other products. At the same time, work is being carried out in the territories liberated from occupation. Infrastructure works are underway in the Tugh State Historical and Architectural Reserve," Aghabayli said.

He noted that these works are also reflected in the "State Program for Tourism Development for 2026–2030," approved by President Ilham Aliyev today.

"The program places particular emphasis on developing new products. This work will continue on an ongoing basis, and the products will be made available to tourists. At the same time, products are also being developed at sites where infrastructure works have been completed. This is one of the main areas we prioritize," he said.
