Karabakh could become one of Azerbaijan's key destinations for tourism investment in the future, World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus Rolande Pryce said Thursday.
Speaking to Report, Pryce said the Azerbaijani government is allocating significant resources for the reconstruction of Karabakh.
She noted that tourism plays an important role in reintegrating former conflict-affected areas into economic life and supporting their transition to a new stage of development.
"If Azerbaijan's goal is to develop Karabakh as an international tourism destination, there are real opportunities for this. At the same time, it is important to gradually build transport, hospitality, service, and other tourism infrastructure in the region, as well as encourage private investment," Pryce said.
She added that Karabakh's rich natural landscapes, historical and cultural heritage, and restored infrastructure could provide a strong foundation for creating attractive tourism products for both domestic and international visitors in the future.
