Negotiations are underway with airlines and travel agencies in the region to increase tourism flow from Middle Eastern countries to Azerbaijan, Rashad Aliyev, deputy chairman of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, said at a meeting of the SKAL Club and leaders of the Azerbaijani tourism industry, Report informs.
He noted that the Board is implementing short-term measures to mitigate the impact of geopolitical events on tourism: "We hold regular meetings with air carriers and travel agencies in Middle Eastern countries. We are establishing cooperation with representatives of the local tourism industry to minimize losses in this market through support measures from the state and private sector. At the same time, work is underway on a state program aimed at increasing tourism flow from Middle Eastern countries. The program encompasses longer-term solutions, and preparations for the implementation of measures planned for 2026 have already begun."
