Tensions between India and Pakistan, as well as conflicts in the Middle East, have recently impacted tourism to Azerbaijan, Rashad Aliyev, deputy chairman of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, said at a meeting between the Skal International Baku club and leaders of the Azerbaijani tourism industry, Report informs.
"This once again proves that tourism is one of the sectors most quickly affected by political processes. In such cases, making flexible decisions and implementing proactive measures to minimize the consequences is especially important," Rashad Aliyev noted.
He added that the Agency responded promptly to the current situation by redirecting marketing activities to alternative markets, and as a result, it was possible to partially prevent the expected larger losses in the tourism sector.
