Azerbaijani journalists explore Issyk-Kul Region's tourism potential

Azerbaijani media representatives visited key tourism and cultural sites across Kyrgyzstan's Issyk-Kul Region on the second day of their media tour in the country, a Report correspondent informs from Cholpon-Ata.

The program commenced with a visit to the village of Kara-Oi, where journalists explored hot mineral springs, one of the region's popular wellness facilities.

The delegation subsequently visited the Kyrchyn Gorge, one of the most scenic locations in the Issyk-Kul Region, widely known as the venue for the World Nomad Games.

Journalists were shown the tent city constructed for participants and guests of the Games and briefed on the history of the international ethnocultural forum in Kyrgyzstan.

An ethnocultural program showcasing traditional Kyrgyz customs was organized for the delegation at the location.

The media tour participants were also presented with salburun, the traditional Kyrgyz hunting method that incorporates hunting with birds of prey and Kyrgyz Taigan hounds.

Almazbek Akunov, President of the Salburun Federation, informed journalists that the organization's primary goal is to promote and preserve salburun as a vital component of the national cultural heritage, as well as pass these traditions on to younger generations. Interest in this national sport has also been demonstrated in Azerbaijan, with Azerbaijani athletes visiting Kyrgyzstan to learn about salburun and exchange experience, he noted.

Additionally, demonstration performances featuring national horseback games and falconry were organized for the Azerbaijani media representatives.

The visit was organized on the instructions of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov by the head of state's press secretary Askat Alagozov as part of efforts to further deepen Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani cooperation in the informational and humanitarian spheres.
