Joint tourism routes to be created between Baku and Shymkent

Plans are underway to develop joint tourism packages and routes between Baku (Azerbaijan) and Shymkent (Kazakhstan), Beksultan Adilkhanov, Head of the Department of Tourism, External Relations, and Creative Industry of Shymkent, told journalists, according to Report's correspondent in Shymkent.

The official highlighted that the direct Baku–Shymkent–Baku flight was launched for this purpose: "This flight will give an additional boost to relations between our countries and cities. Today we have gathered all tourism operators and agencies working in this direction. Relevant memorandums and agreements have already been signed, and within this framework, joint tourism routes will be prepared."

Adilkhanov added that the new flight will positively impact tourist flows between the two countries: "When choosing a destination, tourists first look at whether there is a direct air connection between cities. This undoubtedly creates great convenience. We believe there will be strong tourist flows to both Baku and Shymkent, and we will actively work on this. Shymkent, together with Turkestan and Tashkent, is one of the centers of the southern region. Nearly 5 million people live around Shymkent ."
