Israeli journalist describes Azerbaijan as exceptional travel destination

Futuristic Baku, the wild nature of the Caucasus, ancient villages and the warm attitude of local residents toward guests from other countries make Azerbaijan an exceptional and unforgettable travel destination, Israeli journalist Tali Stein wrote in an article for Ynetnews, in which she shared her impressions of a trip to Azerbaijan, Report informs.

Stein noted that some places captivate people with their beauty, adding that Azerbaijan and its capital, Baku, are undoubtedly among them.

According to the journalist, the harmonious combination of ancient architecture and modern buildings gives Baku a special beauty. Referring to the Heydar Mosque, the Taza Pir Mosque, the Heydar Aliyev Center, the Carpet Museum, the Seaside Boulevard and the Flame Towers, she emphasized that the capital looks especially magnificent in the evening.

The author also drew attention to the cosmopolitan atmosphere of the Azerbaijani capital, its modern hotels, and its diverse local and international cuisine. According to her, traditional tea served in pear-shaped glasses, richly laid tables and the smiles of residents who sincerely welcome guests complete the impression of the city.

The author was no less impressed by her trip outside the capital. She wrote that the best way to discover Azerbaijan's nature up close is to set out on an adventurous journey through rugged areas.

The journalist particularly highlighted the colorful Khizi mountains, whose stripes are painted in shades of red, pink, purple, white and yellow. She compared the unusual landscape of the mud volcano area to the scenery of a science fiction film and the surface of Mars.

Stein also said that another place that made a strong impression on her was the village of Khinalig, located at an altitude of about 2,300 meters. She noted that it is one of the world's oldest settlements and that its residents carefully preserve their unique culture, language and traditions.

Stein also recalled that Khinalig and the seasonal migration route of its residents were included on UNESCO"s World Heritage List in 2023.

Stein paid special attention to the Red Village (Qırmızı Qəsəbə) in Guba district, where Mountain Jews live compactly. The journalist noted that the local Jewish community lives in harmony with Muslims and that many of its members have relatives in Israel.

The author also recalled the long-standing and close relations between Azerbaijan and Israel. In her opinion, the secular nature of Azerbaijani society and the presence of the local Jewish community make the country a comfortable destination for travelers from Israel.
