First cruise route on Caspian Sea to be launched

In 2024, the first cruise route along the Caspian Sea will be launched as part of the Great Volga Way project, said Dmitry Volvach, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia, Report informs.
The route includes voyages to Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Russia. Russian and foreign travelers will be able to take voyages around the Caspian Sea on the passenger four-deck vessel Peter the Great, which is being built at the Astrakhan shipyard Lotos.
The construction of the Peter the Great was started in August 2016 by order of the Moscow River Shipping Company. It is expected to be commissioned in 2024.
