Chinese tourist arrivals to Azerbaijan up 5% in August 2026

In August 2026, the number of tourists arriving in Azerbaijan from China increased by 5%, Deputy CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board Teymur Suleymanzada stated during an event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of China Southern Airlines' office in Baku, Report informs.

According to him, cooperation between Azerbaijan and China in the field of tourism has been systematically strengthening over a long period.

"Last year, we transitioned to implementing new directions in our partnership. The year 2026 was declared the Year of China Tourism in Azerbaijan, and in May, the representative office of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board was opened in Beijing. Our Beijing office made a significant contribution to familiarizing the Chinese market with Azerbaijan and promoting our country's diverse tourism opportunities among the Chinese audience. In August of this year alone, a 5% increase in tourist arrivals from China was recorded," Suleymanzada noted.
