A new state program prepared for the development of tourism in Azerbaijan includes subsidy support for infrastructure projects, according to Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) under the State Tourism Agency, Report informs.
Speaking at the event, Unlocking Azerbaijan's Tourism Potential for Economic Growth and Diversification, in Baku, the CEO mentioned that the program is in its final stage of government approval and aims to address key obstacles to tourism growth.
"The document envisages improving transport accessibility, introducing subsidy mechanisms for infrastructure development, etc.," Sengstschmid noted.
He emphasized that tourism development cannot be limited to the work of a single institution, highlighting the need for coordinated efforts between state bodies and the private sector in areas such as roads, electricity, water supply, communications, and other infrastructure projects.
The main goal of the new program is to coordinate the activities of all stakeholders within a unified framework to ensure sustainable growth of the tourism sector.
