The Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) under the State Tourism Agency is presenting the country's health tourism potential at the HealthxChange Summit 2026 in Varna, Bulgaria.
According to Report, the summit, held May 11–13, is considered one of Europe's leading platforms in health and spa tourism, bringing together government institutions, tourism organizations, medical and recreation industry representatives, and international experts.
Discussions focus on new trends, innovative approaches, and opportunities for global cooperation in health tourism.
ATB Deputy Chairman Teymur Suleymanzada participated in panel sessions and bilateral meetings, introducing Azerbaijan's natural healing resources, spa and recreation facilities, and initiatives for developing health tourism.
Participation also allows Azerbaijan to study European quality standards, management models, and certification mechanisms in health tourism, with the aim of applying best practices domestically.
During the visit, ATB joined the European Spa Association (ESPA) as an advisory member, aiming to expand international cooperation, encourage exchange of advanced practices, and foster new partnerships in the health tourism sector.
