Azerbaijan's tourism revenue up 38% on average over three years

Tourism revenue in Azerbaijan has increased by an average of 38% over the past three years, First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Aliyar Mammadyarov said, Report informs.

Speaking at the event, "Unlocking Azerbaijan's Tourism Potential for Economic Growth and Diversification," in Baku, Mammadyarov said the expansion of air connectivity, simplified visa procedures, and targeted promotion of tourist destinations were the main drivers behind the growth.

He added that tourism services accounted for 21% of Azerbaijan's non-oil services exports in the first quarter of 2026.

According to Mammadyarov, Azerbaijan's strategic geographic location, rich cultural heritage, diverse natural landscapes, and developing infrastructure provide a strong foundation for the country to become a competitive and sustainable tourism destination.
