Azerbaijan represented at tourism fairs in Malaysia

The Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB), operating under the State Tourism Agency, together with four local tourism industry partners, represented Azerbaijan at the PATA Travel Mart (PTM) 2026 international tourism exhibition in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.

According to the agency, cited by Report, Azerbaijan was represented with a national stand at one of the leading tourism events in the Asia-Pacific region. The country's tourism opportunities and products were presented to representatives of foreign markets, while business meetings were held with potential partners.

PATA Travel Mart 2026 brought together companies operating in leisure, luxury and business events (MICE). Participants included travel agencies, tour operators and other tourism sector representatives from Europe, the CIS, South and Southeast Asia, the Middle East, East Asia, Africa and the Pacific region.

During meetings held as part of the exhibition, participants discussed promoting Azerbaijan's tourism products in various markets, establishing new cooperation ties and expanding existing business relations.

The ATB also participated with local partners in the World Islamic Tourism & Trade Expo (WITEX 2026) in Malaysia's capital, Kuala Lumpur.

Organized by the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATA), WITEX 2026 brought together government representatives, leading tourism companies and international market participants.

The event focused on opportunities for cooperation in tourism within the Islamic economy, innovations in the development of software products designed for tourism, and establishing connections with local and international suppliers.

The event also addressed the development of halal tourism, with halal travel experiences, products and services presented by tourism companies and destinations from various regions.
