Azerbaijan plans to develop Great Silk Road tourism product

Azerbaijan plans to create and develop a tourism product centered on the Great Silk Road, according to the State Program on the Development of Tourism for 2026–2030, approved today by President Ilham Aliyev, Report informs.

The program also envisages launching eight cultural tourism products and organizing four local and one international promotional events, such as festivals, by the end of the program period.

In addition, restoration of monuments and infrastructure development in state historical and cultural reserves are planned.

The program also includes the preparation of a strategy and action plan for the development of health tourism in Azerbaijan.

Regulatory and legal acts governing the accreditation of medical institutions will be improved with a focus on medical tourism. At least five facilities providing medical tourism services are expected to be involved in international accreditation processes.

Another target is the organization of an annual Health Tourism Conference.
