Number of people in foreign delegations at Tokyo Olympics may be reduced to 41,000

The Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games intends to reduce the total number of people in foreign delegations arriving from abroad to 41,000, Report informs, referring to TASS.
In May, the projected maximum number of people in the delegations was 59,000. At the same time, before the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics, the organizers expected that about 141,000 people would arrive in Japan as part of the delegations.
The Tokyo Olympics were supposed to take place from July 24 to August 9, 2020. Due to the pandemic, the competition was postponed for a year and will now occur from July 23 to August 8, 2021. On March 20, the organizers finally decided to hold the Games without foreign fans.
