Jirtdan and Goychak Fatma named European Volleyball Championship mascots

Jirtdan and Goychek Fatma, popular Azerbaijani fairy tale characters, will serve as the mascots of the 2026 Women's European Volleyball Championship, according to the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation.

The fairy tale characters will appear in the stands during the tournament. They will serve not only as the mascots of the competition but also as symbols of Azerbaijan's rich cultural heritage, national fairy tales and hospitality.

The Group C matches of the 2026 European Championship will be held at the National Gymnastics Arena from August 21 to 28.

Azerbaijan's national team will face Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Romania and Spain in the group stage.
