Azerbaijan, SportAccord discuss expanding cooperation

Azerbaijan and SportAccord have discussed prospects for expanding cooperation, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

SportAccord is a Lausanne-based global sports organization bringing together international sports federations, cities and other stakeholders in the global sports industry. It is governed by stakeholders representing more than 120 international federations.

Youth and Sports Minister Farid Gayibov received SportAccord President Uğur Erdener.

The sides exchanged views on organizing international sporting events in Azerbaijan, developing cooperation between the country and SportAccord, and other issues of mutual interest.

They also discussed preparations for the SportAccord World Sport & Business Summit, which will be held in Baku next year, including ensuring the event is organized at a high level and the work to be carried out in the coming period.

The meeting was also attended by Elnur Mammadov, Head of the Sports Department at the Ministry of Youth and Sports; Magsud Farzullayev, Executive Director of the Baku City Circuit Operations Company; and SportAccord Executive Director Kelly Fairweather.
