Minister: Azerbaijan maintains effective co-op with OIC in labor relations

Azerbaijan maintains effective cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in the field of labor relations, according to Anar Aliyev, Azerbaijani Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, Report informs.
Aliyev made the statement during the opening session of the event titled "Innovative Labor and Employment Strategies in a Changing World of Work: Global Challenges – National Solutions."
He noted that the OIC Labour Center, headquartered in Baku, successfully fulfills its coordination mission among member states in areas such as employment, social protection, and human capital development: "I believe today's agenda addresses highly important issues and is aimed at fostering progressive practices in labor market development, ensuring safe working conditions, and reducing poverty across our countries."
The minister emphasized that Azerbaijan has implemented five major social reform packages in recent years, benefiting four million citizens: "As a result, the minimum wage has increased 3.1 times, the minimum pension 2.9 times, the average pension 2.6 times, and the average salary has doubled. The volume of funding allocated for social benefits and pensions has increased fivefold."
