Azerbaijan to expand job standards to 1,800 by next year

Azerbaijan plans to increase the number of occupational and qualification standards to 1,800 by the end of next year, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anar Aliyev said on the second day of Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW2025), Report informs.

Aliyev highlighted the country's continued efforts to strengthen employment programs in recent years, noting significant results:

"Last year alone, 407,000 people benefited from employment measures. Of these, 160,000 were provided with jobs, 17,000 were engaged in self-employment programs, and 16,000 received vocational training. Additionally, 204,000 individuals received career counseling services, and around 10,000 received unemployment insurance payments," he said.

The minister also mentioned that nearly 1,400 occupational and qualification standards have already been developed, with the number expected to reach 1,800 by the end of the following year.
