The draft law on social media in Azerbaijan includes not only restrictions and obligations, but also effective mechanisms for regulation and control, Aytan Mammadova, Head of Department at the Ministry of Justice, said during a public discussion on amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences, as well as the laws "On Information, Informatization and Information Protection" and "On Protection of Children from Harmful Information."
Report quotes her as saying these tools will allow parents to control the time children spend on social networks, as well as the type of content and advertising they are exposed to.
"This approach prevents harm to children's psychological and physical development at an early stage and ensures their adaptation to the real socio-cultural environment," Mammadova added.
