US Chargé d'Affaires, Caucasian Muslims Office discuss role of religious communities in peacebuilding

Religious communities play an important role in building lasting peace in the South Caucasus region, Amy Carlon, US Chargé d'Affaires in Baku, said during a meeting with Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazada, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board (CMB), and members of the CMB advisory council, representing the traditional religious confessions operating in Azerbaijan, according to Report.
"Carlon emphasized the importance of the Washington Summit held on August 8 and underscored the significant role of religious communities in building lasting peace and a prosperous future in the South Caucasus.
Pashazada is expected to visit the United States on October 1.
