UN Alliance of Civilizations praises Azerbaijan's role in interfaith dialogue

Azerbaijan continues to host high-level interfaith forums, said Miguel Angel Moratinos, High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, during a meeting with Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazada, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office, Report informs.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 8th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Astana, Kazakhstan. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the strong cooperation between the UN Alliance of Civilizations, Azerbaijan, and the Caucasus Muslims Office as a religious center.

Moratinos, who is also the UN's focal point for combating Islamophobia, acknowledged Azerbaijan's active role in this area and shared ideas about organizing joint conferences in the future.

He emphasized the importance of promoting Azerbaijan's model of multiculturalism, interfaith tolerance, and inter-sectarian harmony, describing it as a valuable example for the international community.
