Azerbaijan, with its unique experience of peaceful coexistence among different cultures and civilizations, continues to support cooperation with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) at the highest level, said Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazada, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board (CMB),
Speaking during his visit to Angola at the Alliance of Peace Summit organized by the UNAOC, Pashazada emphasized that one of the highest truths reflected in the holy books is that the killing of even one person created by the Almighty is as grave a crime as destroying all of humanity.
He noted that mass killings committed on national, racial, or religious grounds and forever imprinted in human memory are among the greatest and unforgivable crimes against humanity.
Drawing attention to the Khojaly genocide, Pashazada stated that the Azerbaijani people also became victims of mass violence, and the international community must know this tragic truth and give it a fair assessment.
"Today, as wars continue in the world, we must, relying on international law, work and pray for the triumph of justice and sustainable peace – not fragile ceasefire regimes – and for the peaceful resolution of conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine," he said.
