The Azerbaijan Institute of Theology has hosted an event titled "The Path of Victory: Following in the Footsteps of Victory," attended by a delegation of Azerbaijani religious figures from Türkiye, Georgia and Iraq, Report informs.
Institute Rector Agil Shirinov briefed the guests on the educational institution, saying its students and graduates seek to contribute professionally to preserving and promoting religious and spiritual values in Azerbaijan.
Gunduz Ismayilov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, recalled Azerbaijan's victory in the Karabakh war, saying it was not only a matter of territory and territorial integrity but also one of national pride for Azerbaijanis around the world.
"The 44-day Patriotic War opened a new chapter in Azerbaijan's history. In that war, we not only liberated our lands and restored our territorial integrity, but also defended our dignity, identity and honor. In essence, this was a new milestone, a new beginning," he said.
Vusal Goyushov, Executive Director of the Moral Values Promotion Foundation under the State Committee, Mehman Ismayilov, Director of the Baku Theological College, and members of martyrs' families also addressed the event.
They said they believed the visit by religious figures would contribute to preserving national and spiritual values, strengthening the ties of Azerbaijanis living abroad with their historical homeland, and conveying information about Azerbaijan to the international community.
