Zelenskyy: Ceasefire could be good outcome of potential meeting with Putin

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that a ceasefire would be a good outcome of a possible meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin; otherwise, it would be difficult to achieve success in subsequent negotiations, Report informs.

Speaking to journalists, Zelenskyy stated that the format voiced in Washington is already a certain compromise in itself.

"We are entering a bilateral format, then a trilateral format (with Trump - ed.). I believe that without agreements in a bilateral format and some form of ceasefire, a trilateral format is almost impossible. The US should already be involved at the moment when the war ends. Or at some point that will indicate the war is about to end. Otherwise, there will be no success," he said.

Zelenskyy emphasized that during the meeting with Trump, he pointed out that the territorial issue is a matter to be discussed directly with Putin.
