Zakharova: Romania's envoy to Moscow summoned to Russian Foreign Ministry

Romania's Ambassador to Moscow, Cristian Istrate, has been summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said, Report informs via Russian media.

"The Romanian ambassador has been summoned to the Foreign Ministry, where he will be informed of retaliatory measures for the closure of the Consulate General in Constanta," she said.

At the end of May, Romanian President Nicușor Dan posted on social media photos of debris from a drone that on the night of May 29 struck a residential apartment building in the Romanian city of Galați.

On the night of May 28-29, a Russian drone violated Romania's airspace and crashed into an apartment building, causing a fire and minor injuries to two people.

In response, Dan declared Russia's Consul General in Constanța, Andrey Kosilin, persona non grata.
