The Russian political elite is divided, Report informs via The Washington Post.
The US outlet reported that due to the 10-month-long war against Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin has been this much isolated for the first time in his 23-year rule in terms of foreign and domestic policy.
The attack on Ukraine destroyed decades of economic relations between Russia and the West. And Putin himself has distanced himself from the Russian elite.
The Washington Post says the Russian elite is divided - some want the war to end, and others consider it necessary to go for the escalation.
Russia started a full-scale war against Ukraine on February 24.
