Von der Leyen, Marta Kos to visit Armenia next week

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will visit Armenia next week, Report informs via Politico.
According to three people familiar with the matter, EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos will also be part of the EU delegation.
The sources said the visit is intended to demonstrate support for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan after his party's victory in the parliamentary elections in June.
"We see that the country is under strong and constant pressure from Russia. This visit will send a powerful signal of support, complementing the concrete assistance already provided," an EU official involved in preparations for the trip said.
Von der Leyen last visited Armenia in May 2026.
