Uzbekistan proposes developing SCO – 2040 vision concept

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has proposed launching the development of a conceptual vision titled "SCO – 2040: A Space for Common Development."

According to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, cited by Report, at a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Bishkek, Mirziyoyev said the main goal of the concept should be to create an interconnected and sustainable space where investment, technology and knowledge can flow freely, major infrastructure and industrial projects can be implemented, and direct ties between regions, businesses and people can be expanded.

Mirziyoyev also proposed developing an SCO Industrial Cooperation Map that would bring together special economic zones, production processes, markets and logistics.

In addition, Uzbekistan believes it is necessary to move toward the practical launch of the SCO Development Bank and begin forming a portfolio of priority projects in transport, energy, industrial cooperation and digital infrastructure.

To advance artificial intelligence, Uzbekistan proposed creating an Open Multilingual SCO Data Corpus and holding an SCO Forum on Artificial Intelligence and New Digital Solutions in Tashkent next year.

Mirziyoyev also proposed establishing an SCO mechanism to address climate challenges, creating a Council for the Integration of Railway Networks of the organization"s member states, and resuming regular SCO dialogue with Afghanistan.
